About Dr. Marcie…
Doctor Marcie LaRiccia‘s first experience with chiropractic was when she was an infant. Her parents noticed that she favored leaning her head to one side and had difficulties turning her head opposite that side. Worried, they took her to her pediatrician who immediately jumped to a surgical answer. Her parents, who didn’t want their infant to undergo surgery, told their pediatrician that they were going to get a second opinion from their long-time chiropractor. Due to this decision, they were essentially barred from that MD’s office, but ultimately saved Marcie from an unnecessary surgery. Their chiropractor performed a single, gentle adjustment and gave them exercises to strengthen the weak muscle in Dr. Marcie’s neck.
It was this experience, along with her experiences in high school and college, that pushed Dr. Marcie to pursue chiropractic. Without knowing much of the history or philosophy behind chiropractic, she fell in love quickly and adopted a gentle, low force approach with her treatment that she honed throughout her time in chiropractic school. As a Maine native, Marcie is excited to be back in her home state and accepting new patients in the greater Portland area. She lives in Sanford with her husband Matt and her fur-son Jackson who love to go fishing and hiking as often as possible.
About Dr. Kelly…
In 1998, Doctor Kelly Worster was pursuing a Masters of Social Work degree, when she experienced three weeks of constant migraines. A friend recommended that she visit a local chiropractor for treatment. The results were greater than she expected. Not only did her migraines disappear, so did the depression she had been living with for years.
She started talking with other patients in the office and heard similar experiences of the unexpected “side effects” of the healing art of chiropractic. Kelly began researching the science behind chiropractic — how interferences in the nervous system manifest and how chiropractic adjustments clear them, restoring the body to balance – and she never looked back. In 6 months she was working for the office where she originally sought treatment. Soon thereafter, she was on her way to chiropractic college.
Dr. Worster’s approach is holistic and gentle. She specializes in a variety of low-force adjusting techniques that encourage healing and support long term wellness. As a Maine native, Dr. Worster is pleased to practice in Greater Portland. She lives in the area with her partner, Jeff, and their pooch, Quoddy.
